Sandeep has lived in Delhi, Dubai, and Toronto. Exposure to such vastly different cultures has allowed him to develop a very understanding and flexible demeanor. While he respects and values South Indian / Brahmin traditions, he knows that it is important to have an open mind and a modern outlook towards life. Sandeep is currently focused on his career, however; In his free time, he enjoys clicking photographs, watching movies, listening to some good music, and exploring the city. He loves dogs and will most certainly keep one as a family pet (be prepared =)). Sandeep's friends have mostly been from North India - consequently he loves chatting away in Hindi and English. At home he speaks in a blend of Tamil, English, Hindi, and at times Punjabi (with his Mom, who speaks about a million different languages - more on this as you get to know our family). He has a very friendly and like-able personality, and knows that it is as important to listen as it is to talk.
My son has a master's degree and he is currently working in Toronto.
He graduated from B.E - Computer Science at Chennai, MBA - Systems and Finance at Coimbatore after that he moved to Canada to do his two years of Post-Graduate course in Toronto specializing in Business Analyst and IT Project Management. He has been living in Canada since 2013. He presently works as a Banking Professional in Toronto and is a Permanent Resident of Canada. We come from an affluent family background with traditional values.
People describe him as knowledgeable, modest, responsible, soft-spoken and independent. His hobbies and interests are traveling and admiring nature. He is a vegetarian with clean habit with modern outlook. He is by nature very flexible & understanding. He is young, tall, fair, and handsome.
He is fun loving, jolly, adventurous, travel freak person. He is an engineer with post graduate ( MBA) currently working and settled in Canada with permanent resident status. He has one younger brother.
In my son's words:
I am a chartered Accountant by profession but diversified in to Finance and General management and strategy as a Career. I have been admitted in to the morning part-time MBA program at University of Toronto with entrance scholarship starting July of 2018.
I am an independent, social and humorous person and moderately built. I am obsessed about my fitness and going to Gym is part of my daily routine. I am very health conscious as much I am a food lover and probably the most typical fan of the traditional Indian food. I also relish Thai and Italian Vegetarian Cuisine.
I also believe in fiscal discipline and saving for the future while spending money on things I enjoy the most such as Travel, Music, Socializing with friends. I have invested in properties from my own savings and bought my own car.
As much as I am very modern in outlook I do attach importance to our culture and tradition. I believe in daily prayers as it keeps me calm under all circumstances and perform morning Sandyavandanam without fail. I have also learnt to recite with perfect pronunciation and tone Rudram, Chamakam, Suktam, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lalita Sahasranamam ,Hanuman Chalisa and many more. I am an ardent devotee of Guruvayurappan, visit Guruvayur everytime I visit India and recite Narayaneeyam as time permits. I have been doing this not out of any compulsion but it is my own experience in life and rationale that has encouraged me to learn our scriptures.
I am teetotaler and vegetarian by choice but I am very comfortable in all social settings. Having attended McGill University for my undergraduate which attracts students from all over the globe, I have great friends all over the world including Africa, Asia and Europe.
As much as I need my space and independence to do things that I enjoy most, I also enjoy strong bonding relationship with my parents and live with them who are also my source of inspiration. My father, an engineer by profession holds a doctorate in metallurgy from IISC Bangalore and also serves at the local temple here as a part of his cultural interest. My mother is an electronics engineer from Chennai and a strong willed working woman. As a family we do family outings as well as pursue individual interests and hobbies giving space for each other.
I am surrounded by a large extended family. My father has 4 sisters and 4 brothers. My paternal aunts uncles and cousins are highly educated and very well placed live in different parts of the world. My mother has 2 sisters and a brother. My maternal aunts and my uncle is very well placed but reside in India between Chennai and Bangalore. I enjoy the strong bonding that each of them have with me and especially my cousin sisters and cousin brothers.
I love exploring different parts of the world and travelled extensively across Europe, Asia and North America. I have done a few back pack tours in Asia and Europe with likeminded friends.
I was born in Chennai and attended PSBB K.K.Nagar and migrated to Canada while studying Grade 5 while maintaining my friendship with my classmates from Grade 5. I maintain my roots and traditions and often visit India and make it a point to visit the temples to satisfy my spiritual and artistic cravings. I love its rich artistic imagery and sculpture that our temples are adorned with. I am very passionate about animal welfare and never miss an opportunity to contribute.
I occasionally travel for work to meet my customers across North America and Europe. My deep sense of curiosity often allows me to meet a lot of people from different cultures and backgrounds, thus making it interesting to learn a lot from these parts of the world too.
Reading is yet another passion that I pursue whenever I find the time. It helps to keep up with politics, economy, social and cultural issues. I play team sports especially Soccer and Tennis at my work and with my friends as it gives me yet another opportunity to socialize and manage stress.
I grew up with both my paternal and maternal grandparents who are all well versed in Carnatic music. Their involvement and enthusiasm gradually cultivated the love for Carnatic Music in me. I have done a formal Arangetram and it is my dream to learn Hindustani Classical Music in the near future.
My job requires me to travel and spend late hours at the office as I am aspiring to become a member of the senior management before I am 35. Hence I shall expect my partner to be strong-willed, optimistic, and independent who can handle everything with a sparkle in her eyes.
The most important that I am looking for in my partner is someone with interest in classical music either carnatic or hindustani with similar value system, classy and modern but firmly rooted in traditions and down to earth. I can assure that I will definitely support my partner to pursue education, career and artistic pursuits such as classical dance or Music.
I expect my partner to support my busy schedule for the next 3 years as I will be studying part-time MBA in a world class university and working in a senior management position.
In his own words:
I love reading books especially on psychology, investment and evolution. I value being fit very much and I make sure I eat, sleep and workout right. I do engage my spiritual aspect as well by doing yoga/meditation every morning.
I was a national level cyclist and also a recreational half ironman Triathlete (Swimming/Biking and Running). After moving to Canada, I haven't been able to do it. I would love to get back sometime in the future.
I have a conservative outlook on life (more of a risk averse person) and have a huge list of people as my heroes. All of them have some characteristics in common: humble and wise. Just in case you are interested to know, some my heroes are: Harsha Bhogle, Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Howard Marks, Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Graham, Rahul Dravid.
I have a MBA from Ivey business school, Canada. I am currently working as a senior consultant in Toronto. I am also an equity analyst for my school's value fund. Largely, I get along with people well. I find it hard to complain and I am largely a happy person. I am lucky that my genetic makeup is such. I will always try to live a modest life even after becoming affluent by myself. I feel modest upbringing helps one appreciate the values of integrity, hard work and be accountable for one's life. I believe this way of upbringing helped me stay off any kind of bad habits. Also, it made me accept everyone I interact with and be more compassionate.
I am currently in Canada and in the final stages of getting my PR approved. As of now, my plan is to come back to India after getting my citizenship. The reason is, there are a lot of advantages when it comes to holding a Canadian citizenship.
All the above points just highlight my good qualities but I am not perfect. I am constantly working on making myself a better person. I expect a similar mindset from my partner.
